Alfa Romeo - Appearance.

The Alfa Giulia introduced in 1962 replaced the successful Giulietta. A standard three box four door berlina was a boxier version than the Giulietta, but never the less had excellent aerodynamics.

The Giulia fitted with a 1570cc engine and 92Bhp it can reach speeds of 103mph. It has a five speed gearbox which is still controlled by a column mounted shift, the rear handling was improved from that of the Giulietta however the rear suspension remained the same. There were other variants of the Giulietta which merely compromised larger engines, a year later the Giulia TZ was introduced, mainly for motor sports where it was largely successful. 1963 saw a Giulia TI Super introduced only 500 of these 112Bhp were produced. 1964 was a year when several versions emerged; the 1300 and 1600 Sprint which filled the gap in the cheaper market under the Sprint GT. The Giulia Berlina produced after this was a TI with a 1300 78Bhp engine from the Giulietta. Finally the Giulia Spider Veloce 1600 a 1600 112Bhp engine was fitted into the Spider body, also worth mentioning is the limited production of the Giulia GS 4R Zagato, only 92 produced and was a replica of the vintage1750 Zagato Gran Sport Spider made on however a Giulia base. Other models in the Giulia range also include the Sprint GT, GTV, 1750 and 2000 as well as the 1300 and 1600 GT Juniors.

The interiors of the Giulia have been developed over the years for instance the TI made an interior breakthrough by splitting the front seats into two rather than a bench seat, this also incorporated a floor mounted gearshift. The 1971 Super also displayed a floor mounted handbrake. These minor changes all added to the originality of the vehicles, and set them apart from the rest in a way.
