Better car parts

Car EngineAn article on the new Ethanol Powered Lotus Supercar makes for a good read (by Justin Couture - Canadian Auto Press) . The Lotus Supercar is the only road car which currently uses E85 fuel, which is 85 percent ethanol. However at the current time it is a expensive alternative, but give it a few years and we will all be driving e85 fuel cars and helping to preserve planet earth.

Maybe in the future other car parts will use more friendlier alternative car parts using recycled parts. One can only but imagine. but for not the focus will be on fuel.

On another note Trevor Hofmann (Canadian Auto Press) writes about a new collision detection system which detects rear collisions before they are happening and will adjust your seats to the optimum crash position while putting your hazard lights on. This is actually in operation in the new Lexus LS vehicle.

In my minds the system would have to be able to see the future. What if a car gets right up you rear end, would your car throw you into the crash position making you loose control and turn your hazard lights on (if there not already broken by the rear impact). I guess id have to see it in action before I would purchase it.
