Passenger car assembler Honda Cars Philippines Inc. shut down operations earlier this month while its commercial vehicle sister company Isuzu Philippines Corp. (IPC) is beginning to feel the impact of the parts supply crunch that assembly operations may slow down this month.

In an interview at the sidelines of the Auto Expo at the SMX on Friday, Joseph Bautista, sales division head of IPC, said since 90 percent of the company’s operations is assembly from completely knocked down (CKD) parts, the scarcity of components will put pressure on its operations.
